Road repair in Kamenyuki, 2009
Events, facts, documents and evidence: The plan of preparations for the 600th anniversary of Belovezhskaya Pushcha nature reserve statuss protection provided for an overhaul of Route 83, which links the regional center of Brest, the district center Kamenets and the national park, as well as sections of the transit roads that run through the village of Kamenyuki.
Pushchanskaya Street in Kamenyuki had been last asphalted about a decade before, and much of its surface needed repair. The approach roads and sidewalks were in a poor condition, too.
Below is a road sign with details of the project.

Considering that the central road had been repaired a relatively short time before, the curb blocks were quite new and could have been reused here or elsewhere if removed with care.
The pictures below show that too many of these blocks, collected and piled up near the living quarters, had been broken or damaged.

The original plan was to build an extra approach road to the new culture venue that was under construction. The road would run next to a residential building and gardens through acacia bush. The road was cancelled after discussing the environmental and social implications with local residents.
The shots below show the place where the aforementioned road would begin blocked with curbstones, and a footing for a fence installed.

By mid-summer, it was understood that the workforce available could not complete the planned scope of work on time. The team of workers was then reinforced.
